1983–2011
Coastal Marina Management successfully led Bay Point Marina through significant growth, expanding from 29 slips to a current capacity of 180. Key accomplishments include:
- Developing plans for and overseeing four major marina expansions.
- Organizing the marina’s Clean Marina Certification, making it the second facility in Florida to achieve this status.
- Rebuilding the facility after hurricane damage and performing dredging operations three times to maintain optimal conditions.

Bay Point Invitational Billfish Tournament

Coastal Marina Management, in partnership with Bill Spann, envisioned and managed the nationally renowned Bay Point Invitational Billfish Tournament from its inception in 1984 until Bill’s retirement in 2005. This tournament was the first of its kind on the Gulf Coast, featuring large, high-stakes modern billfish competitions. Key highlights include:
- Five consecutive years of live television coverage on CSS Sports.
- Setting the state record for the two heaviest blue marlin caught in Florida.
